The Bible....the greatest book ever created
T he Bible is God's book and our guide to life. Every word is inspired by God. II Peter 1:20-21 "Above all, you must understand that no prophecy or scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit". The Bible is a supernatural book that has survived and thrived throughout centuries of being scoffed at, ridiculed and banned. Countless people have been martyred because they had the courage to stand by it's truths. People have said that the Bible and Christianity would never last but the Bible says Isaiah 40:8 "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever". From the pages in the Bible we hear the voice of God and his wonderful love for mankind. God's communication to man is the Bible. The Bible reveals the truth about God, explains the origin of humankind, offers the only way to salvation and eternal life in Jesus Christ and does not "side step" problems of sin and suffering. The Bible is God's way to speak directly to us as he longs for a personal relationship with each one of us. The Bible has the answers. Throughout our lives, we all face a litany of questions that trouble our souls for answers. Where do we find help? Can our questions be answered and can we find the peace we are seeking? The answer is a definite yes!! In the Bible! God speaks and reveals himself through his word with divine instruction to multiple generations of people who faced the same life issues and questions that we all face today. The Bible never goes out of style, is always relevant and is truth. The Bible openly and honestly answers what we long to hear. For example: Comfort for our sorrows: Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted" Guidance for our confusion: Proverbs 4:11 "I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths" Inspiration for our needs and hope for despair: Psalms 62:5 "Find rest, oh my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him". God wants to direct our lives via the Bible. Isaiah 48:7 "This is what the Lord says- your redeemer, the holy one of Israel: I am the Lord your God who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go". Psalms 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path". The Bible is a living book that never changes and is always applicable in today’s world. Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is living and active.. sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart"
